The Hayden Schofield Playstead is named for Private Francis Hayden and Private James F. Schofield, who were killed in action in France in 1918 during World War One. The Hayden Schofield Playstead is located at the intersection of Lawrence Street and Myrtle Street. The park consists of two lighted fields and a playground for the kids, it is also the home of several baseball and softball leagues in the City of Lawrence.
