Howard Playstead
Howard Playstead is a recreational park located across from the intersection of Lawrence Street and Hampshire Street. It is named for Army Corporal Robert W. Howard, who was a Prisoner of War, and eventually killed during the Korean War.  Howard Playstead provides fun for the whole family with multiple fields and courts, as well as a playground for the little ones. Howard Playstead is home to the Lawrence Central Babe Ruth league, as well as several other leagues and fun loving groups. Parking is available off street, and Howard Playstead might just be the perfect spot in Lawrence for a picnic with the family!
