Storrow Park is located on High Street next to the water tower. Storrow Park is named for Samuel Storrow, who served in the 44th Massachusetts Volunteer Militia during the Civil War. He was killed in action March 16th, 1865 during the Battle of Avorysboro. Storrow Park also contains the Leo Murgia Playstead, which is named for Leo Murgia, who died as a result of injuries sustained while serving as a Lawrence Fire Fighter. Storrow Park contains many recreational facilities, including an excellent playground and a basketball court.
