Trash and Recycling Collection

For Residents with Municipal Trash Collection

Trash and recycling are still being picked up on Tuesday for all streets.

Every week on your collection day from April until November.
Leaves, grass clippings, other easily raked material
Use paper yard waste bags or clearly marked barrels
No plastic bags or branches/stumps
No loose brush, must be tied up
No brush longer than 4' or with a diameter greater than 3"

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL

Place in paper bags (no plastic) beside or on top of bin

Newspapers (with inserts), brown paper bags.
Magazines/catalogues, phone books or office paper and books with hardcovers removed.
Corrugated cardboard flattened to 30" x 30" or smaller.
Junk mail (remove plastic windows and wrappings).
Paperboard (cereal cracker, shoe boxes, etc. - remove liners) and beer and soda carriers.
No pizza boxes, soiled paper or tissue (paper towels or cups), candy, gum or food wrappers.
No plastic grocery bags.
No waxed, wet, or foil-backed boxes or paper.

Rinse and place inside of bin.

Clear, green, and brown glass bottles/jars (no broken or other glass such as light bulbs, window or auto glass, dishes, glasses, or Pyrex).
Aluminum, tin, steel cans and lids. Deposit and non-deposit cans (no aluminum foil).
Clean aluminum foiled plates. Flatten, crush, and/or nest to save space. No aerosol cans.
All plastic containers such as milk, juice, or water jugs and soda and detergent bottles.. Look on bottom for symbol.
No motor oil or chemical containers, no Styrofoam, no plastic wrap or bags, no miscellaneous plastic.
Remove lids, collars, neck rings, corks, etc., but you can leave paper labels.

Collection week is the second week in January
No plastic bags Remove all ornaments, tinsel, twine, nails, etc.

Collection schedule will correspond to the following five-day format:
Mondays – South Lawrence West
Tuesdays – South Lawrence East, downtown, and Water street area (refer to map)
Wednesdays – Prospect Hill
Thursdays – Arlington district
Fridays – Tower Hill

                                  MONITORS
Must purchase sticker(s) for these items at 1 Auburn St,
7am to 3pm weekdays minus Massachusetts holidays,
and ask for the Municipal Recycling Coordinator.

Auburn is a right off Hampshire street northbound before the
Central Catholic high school; it’s across from Rowell Park.
Call 978-620-3310 if you need further directions.

Televisions and computer monitors cost $10 each,
Computers (inc. mainframe and monitor) cost $20 ea,
and the following appliances cost $25 each:
Dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers,
freezers, stoves, ovens, and hot water heaters.
All doors must be removed.

Once sticker is purchased, call 800-442-9006 for Collection.

The following items require calling 800-442-9006 but no sticker:
Air Conditioners, house radiators, cast iron tubs, long iron pipes,
water coolers, dehumidifiers, trash compactors, and lawnmowers.
