Our Mission

The freedom to pursue knowledge is a foundation of our democracy.  The Lawrence Free Public Library, an essential public institution, strives to serve as an accessible and responsive information and literary center for all residents of the Lawrence community. Through its evolving collection of materials and an abiding concern for its customers, the Library exists to preserve the free development and expression of ideas essential for an informed citizenry.

Library Computer Lab

Computer Lab Rules

  1. Must be in 7th grade and up to use adult computer lab
  2. During School hours (until 2.30) any student (Younger than 18 years) may not use the computers 
  3. No food or drink allowed in the library (except water) 
  4. Library is not responsible for lost money 
  5. One person per computer. 
  6. One person per chair. 
  7. There is a one hour limit. 
  8. Everybody can use a computer for a maximum of 2 hours but not consecutively
  9. Prints and copies are 15 cents per page for black and white 30 cents for color.
  10. There is No music, No talking, No cell phone use in the computer lab.
