One cart per household will be provided by the city free of charge for each household. The collection and disposal costs of the trash placed in them will also be free-of-charge for the first cart. If your cart is broken, please contact Allied Waste Customer Service at 1 (800) 442-9006 to arrange an exchange for a replacement cart.

If your cart is stolen, and needs to be replaced, it will be mandatory to complete a stolen cart Police Report before a new cart can be issued.

As in the case of the initial “free-of-charge” cart, the replacement cart will be provided free-of-charge and will also be the property of the City of Lawrence. Residents moving away from the city are required to notify the Department of Public Works, contact Norm Nimmo, Recycling Coordinator at the number listed below.
