Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements 2017

The City of Lawrence has awarded a contract to Albanese Brothers, Inc. of Dracut, MA, to complete Sewer System Rehabilitation and Improvements – CWSRF 3919 Contract II. The project involves sewer pipe and manhole rehabilitation work to address structural defects and improve hydraulic capacity in the sewer system. Construction is scheduled to take place between April 2017 and August 2017, weather permitting, and will impact the following areas:

 

-          Location: Water Street Area

-          Estimated Timeline: May 2017

-          Brief Description of Work: Trenchless cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of approximately 1,200 feet of existing 10-inch to 18-inch sewer pipe

 

-          Location: Amherst Street Area

-          Estimated Timeline: April 2017 – June 2017

-          Brief Description of Work: Open cut replacement of approximately 2,700 feet of 18-inch sewer pipe; open cut replacement of adjacent 12-inch storm drain pipe and rehabilitation of existing catch basins as needed; trenchless cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of approximately 300 feet of 18-inch sewer pipe

 

-          Location: Bailey Street, Abbott Street, and Foster Street Area

-          Estimated Timeline: June 2017 – July 2017 (trenchless CIPP in May 2017)

-          Brief Description of Work: Open cut replacement of approximately 675 feet of existing 8-inch sewer pipe; installation of approximately 500 feet of new 8-inch sewer pipe; open cut replacement of adjacent 12-inch storm drain pipe and rehabilitation of existing catch basins as needed; trenchless cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining of approximately 300 feet of existing 26-inch x 32-inch sewer pipe

 

-          Location: Holly Street, Cross Street, and Cedar Street Area

-          Estimated Timeline: July 2017 – August 2017

-          Brief Description of Work: Open cut replacement of approximately 1,400 feet of existing 8-inch and 12-inch sewer pipe; open cut replacement of adjacent 12-inch storm drain pipe and rehabilitation of existing catch basins as needed
