As has been reported Sunday morning at approximately 5:09 am, Lawrence Police responded to the 400 block of Haverhill Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, responding Officers encountered a 24 year old female with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. She was treated on scene by Paramedics and EMT’s from Lawrence General Hospital, and was transported by ambulance to that facility. She was subsequently been transferred to a Boston hospital. Based on the information obtained from the beginning of the investigation, it was not believed that this incident was a random act of violence.
As a result of an investigation led by Detective Michael Colantuoni a 15 year old Male from Lawrence was arrested and charged with the shooting. Upon questioning the suspect with a parent present, Det Colantuoni was able obtain a complete confession. The 15 year old Male has been arraigned in Lawrence Juvenile Court charged with assault with intent to murder and other firearms related chargers.
