Following an investigation conducted by Detective Carmen Purpora a 16 year juvenile male from Lawrence was arrested and charged with: assault with intent to murder and attempted murder. Police responded to Lawrence General Hospital after being notified that a gunshot victim arrived in the emergency room on his own. The victim stated that he met up the defendant who was interested in purchasing marijuana from him. During the transaction an argument ensued during which the defendant shot the victim. The victim was able to identify the defendant through a photo array. He has been arraigned in Essex County Juvenile Court in Lawrence.
