Members of the Lawrence Police Street Narcotic Unit (SNUE) regularly monitor social media platforms looking for tips on drug activity in the city. Through that monitoring, these Detectives observed a male on social media showing off a firearm and marijuana for sale. They were able to identify the individual and confirm his place of residence where the firearm and marijuana were displayed. A search warrant was applied for and executed, and as a result, the firearm and marijuana packaged for sale were recovered and the Detectives seized cash proceeds from drug sales. The individual, a 24 year old male from Lawrence, now faces various firearm and drug distribution charges.
