On Tuesday Evening a victim of a domestic violence incident came to the Lawrence Police Department to report the incident. The victim identified Steven Garcia age 18 of Lawrence as the individual with whom the incident occurred. The two had a verbal argument which turned physical when Garcia who is a verified gang member struck her in the face. The victim further claimed that Garcia has threaten her with a loaded firearm in the past.

The Lawrence Police Gang Unit responded a Beacon Ave address where they were let into the apartment by Shanice Pellot age 19 also of Lawrence. Garcia was taken into custody without incident. During a protective sweep of the apartment ammunition was located in plain sight. A search warrant was executed in the apartment during which a firearm and ammunition was recovered. Both Garica and Pellot were arraigned yesterday in Lawrence District court charged with several firearms related charges. Additionally, Garcia was charged with assault and battery on a household member.
