On 11/30/2017 Lawrence Police Departments Patrol Division Platoon One responded to a breaking and entering at a Methuen St business. . Officer Chris Cote responded and started an investigation. Among other actions Officer Cote collected physical evidence in the form of a black knit hat. He submitted it for DNA analysis with the Massachusetts State Police Crime Lab. On December 8, 2018 Officer Cote was advised by Detective Lt. Mark Ciccarelli that the Massachusetts State Police crime lab had positively identified the suspect with a match through DNA analysis.. Based these results Officer Cote was able to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspects arrest.
