[ARCHIVED] Child Admitted to Hospital After Testing Positive for Fentanyl

Yesterday afternoon Lawrence Police Detectives responded to Lawrence General Hospital, along with investigators from the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to investigate a report that a 1 year old female had been admitted to the hospital after testing positive for fentanyl.

The child’s parents were interviewed by Lawrence Police Detectives, and DCF Investigators.  Following the interview a search warrant was obtained for the couples Osgood Street address.  Upon executing the search warrant a variety of illegal narcotics and ammunition was found, for which a license to carry a firearm or FID card is required to lawfully possess.

The child’s parents McDanner Pereyra age 27, and Jennifer Ouch age 27 were both arrested and charged with drug trafficking, and illegal possession of ammunition.  Both will be arraigned today in Lawrence District Court.  The couple’s children are now in DCF custody.  All indication from medical personnel is that the 1 year old child will be ok. This investigation is ongoing and more charges may follow. There is no further information available at this time.
