Sergeant John Bernard, Officer Zack Taylor, Officer Claudio Camacho,
Officer Salman Dar, Officer Jon Armano, Officer Clayron Delossantos, and Officer
Alexander Ovalles responded to a shots fired call on Parker Street. Based on the information obtained from their initial
investigation, the officers were able to obtain the location of the
suspect. As officers were entering the
building, a gun was thrown out of the rear window.
The officers were able to make an entry into the unit where
the suspect was, and placed him into custody without incident. Through
evidence, victim testimony, and witness testimony, they were able to charge the
suspect with; attempted murder, armed assault to murder, assault and battery
with dangerous weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm, among other charges. In addition to the new charges stemming from
this incident, Carlos Pimentel-Ortiz age 32 of Lawrence also had an active
warrant for his arrest for attempted murder and other firearm charges stemming
from a recent shooting on Water Street.
