Once again, I cannot thank Massachusetts State Police Colonel Kerry Gilpin and Essex County Sheriff Kevin Coppinger enough for their continued support of Lawrence. This is yet another example of a successful operation conducted by the Massachusetts State Police, Essex County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lawrence Police working together. I am particularly grateful for the constant and continual collaboration with members of the State Police assigned to Troop A under the leadership of Major Pat Russolillo. –Chief Roy Vasque
The Massachusetts State Police, Lawrence Police, and Essex County Sheriff’s Department conducted a Zero Tolerance Initiative last evening in Lawrence that resulted in thirty-eight arrests. The operation primarily focused on Quality of Life issues and motor vehicle infractions.
The operation was a coordinated effort undertaken by the MSP Troop A Community Action Team, the Lawrence Police Impact Operations Unit, and Essex Sheriff’s Deputies. State and Lawrence Police appreciate the participation of the sheriff’s deputies who provided prisoner transport, bilingual capabilities, and site security for the staging area.
This coordinated effort will continue in the City throughout the weekend
