Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett and Lawrence Police Chief Roy Vasque announced the arrest of a second suspect in the murder of a 24-year old woman found in the Spicket River last week.
Nelson Gilles (DOB: 03/21/1996), was arrested today for accessory after the fact of murder. Working with the Essex State Police Detective Unit and Lawrence Police detectives, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section made the arrest today. He will be arraigned in Lawrence District Court this afternoon.
Giovanni Lebron, (DOB: 12/22/1994), of Lawrence was ordered held without bail at his arraignment on a murder charge last week. He is scheduled to appear in Lawrence District Court on August 15th for a pre-trial conference.
On Tuesday, July 23rd at approximately 12:49 pm, Lawrence Police responded to a call reporting a body in the Spicket River near Manchester Street Park. MSP Dive Team recovered the body of Nicole Connor. Investigators determined she was the victim of a homicide.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
