Detective Sean O’Keefe of the Lawrence Police Department
Gang Unit and Officer Robert Lakin and Officer Alex Ovalles recovered a loaded
firearm from a 16 year old Lawrence male. The arrest was a result
of surveillance that Detective O’Keefe was conducting in the Florence Street
area as a result of a recent shots fired call.
The 16 year old was with a group of juvenile and adult males
that Detective O’Keefe and Officers Lakin were attempting to
identify. As the Officers were interviewing the group, Officer
Ovalles located the firearm in a “fanny pack” belonging to the 16 year old.
The 16 year old was arraigned in Lawrence District Court on
several firearms related charges.
