The two individuals who were engaged in a conversation in a social media chat room which led to last Friday’s incident on the Lawrence High School Campus have been identified, as a result of the investigation and subsequent comprehensive search of the buildings and grounds of the High School Campus. It is now clear that at no time was there any imminent threat to the Campus.
The safety and protection of the students and faculty of all of the City’s schools is always of paramount concern for the Lawrence Police Department and the Lawrence School Department. This was evident by the large response of both local and state law enforcement resources. This matter is currently being reviewed by Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett’s Office.
