Upon receiving several anonymous tips on the Department’s “Text-a-Tip” line, as well as the Drug Hotline, regarding a male selling drugs in the Garden and Orchard Street area, the Lawrence Police Street Narcotics Enforcement Unit set up surveillance in that area.  During this surveillance, Detectives Robert Lakin and Charelis Rivera observed a male fitting the description of the individual described in the anonymous tip lean into a vehicle and conduct what they believed to be a drug transaction.

Following the transaction, the two Detectives followed the individual into an alley. The suspect noticed them and attempted to duct out of sight.  Detective Lakin found a large amount of cash on the suspect in varying dominations. While Detective Lakin was interviewing the suspect, Detective Rivera located a large amount of narcotics  in the area where suspect was attempting to hide.  Yohel Guerrero-Castillo, age 23, of Boston will be arraigned tomorrow in Lawrence District Court  for drug possession and trafficking charges.
