This morning at approximately 2:58 am, the Lawrence Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in area of 1042 Essex St. A vehicle struck a parked car and utility pole. A male driver and a female passenger were both transported to Lawrence General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Power was temporarily shut down in the immediate area as crews work to replace the utility pole damaged in the crash, but has since be restored. The matter remains under investigation, however alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
