OnTuesday September 11, 2018 following a joint investigation by the Massachusetts
State Police Fire Investigation and Explosions Unit, the Lawrence FireDepartment Fire Prevention Unit and the Lawrence Police Detective Unit leads to an
individual responsible for starting 4 fires on Nightingale Court being identified. William Larochelle age 51 of Lawrence was arrested and charged with the following:
BurningPersonal Property (couch)
Burning
Motor Vehicle (2 Counts- Recreational Vehicle)
BurningMotor Vehicle (Volkswagen Jetta)
Burning
of a Building (#2 Nightingale Court)
Burningof Personal Property (brush at rear of #2 Nightingale Court)
As
part of the investigation MPS Trooper Mike Sweet and LPD Detective HaroldRogers conducted several interviews with witnesses, as well as with
Larochelle. Additionally, Trooper Sweet,Detective Rogers, Fire-Fighter Pat Ruiz, Joe Maloney viewed surveillance video
from several locations. LFD Captain PatDelaney, Lieutenant Michael Armano and MSP Sgt. Bossi of MSP FEIU and deployed
his Accelerant Detection K-9 Maya, as well as Trooper Robert Quigley (MSP CSSS)were also part of the investigation that led to Larochelle’s arrest.
